Amalfi

Amalfi is a town of Roman and it was the first Italian Marine Republic.

After the fall of the Roman empire, it was the first city to re-establish trade between the East and West, transforming and introducing exotic products such as carpets, coffee, paper and spice into Italy.

It even had its own currency: the tari.

It was the patria homeland of Flavio Gioia, who invented the compass and provided navigators with the famous book on the law of the sea called "Tabula de Amalfa".

The city is not only important for its history but it is also about legend, art, religious tradition and health.

Amalfi is a tranquil, picturesque climatic and sea-side resort, with a very mild climate and incomparable natural beauty spots, and it is also able to welcome the large numbers tourists who visit it in the best possible way, thanks to its many and well-known historical hotels (many of which were previously convents) and its comfortable modern hotels.
