Positano, a well-known and elegant tourist resort, is located in the middle of the Amalfi Coast behind the Monti Lattari (Lattari Mountains). Thanks to its enchanting position, a mild climate and the beauty of its scenery, Positano was an important resort location starting from roman times, as evidenced by the discovery of some of the Patrizia villas.

If you walk in the historical centre you will feel the atmosphere of this typical fishing town, with its typical white houses, the small portico overlooking the sea, but above all the numerous stairways that you can use to reach the beaches. The most important are the Spiaggia Grande (large beach), located in front of the town, and Fornillo beach, which can be reached through a panoramic sentry. The following beaches can also be reached by sea: La Porta, Arienzo and San Pietro Laurito.

The following are worth a visit: the chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta (Saint Mary Assunta church), which is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy, and the Saracen towers, which were built in the Middle Ages as a defence against the frequent raids that harmed the local population; the fist tower is located in the Punta Campanella locality, outside of the Positano municipality, where the Amalfi Coast gives way to the Sorrento coast.

Positano is now also an important reference point for the international fashion trade, as evidenced by the numerous local boutiques spread over the whole town.
